SPA Solidarity Message to HDP

Dear All Progressive and Revolutionaries Around the World!

During World War II, Martin Niemöller wrote this poem, objecting the fascism of Hitler:

First they came for the Communists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Today the fascist government of AK Party led by the new Hitler, called Erdoğan, in alliance with other fascist and right-wing nationalist Turkish parties, are committing the same crimes against HDP.

HDP along with many other progressive under-ground parties in Turkey are fighting against imperialism hegemony and their local religious and non-religious reactionary forces. You are one of the few parties in the world that truly represents religious, gender and racial minorities.

First, the AK Party tried to suppress you during Turkey’s 2015 General Election, even detonating bomb to frighten you, but the presence of bandaged wounded voters was a big slap on Erdoğan’s face.

Although most of the times the crimes committed by dictators like Erdoğan, don’t make it to the corporate mass media, but this time every news channel was reporting about the brutal act of AK Party: detention of the Co-Mayors of Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality, Sebahat Tuncel, Figen Yüksekdağ, Selahattin Demirtaş and nine other HDP MPs. This proves that your struggle is so impressionable and widespread that even the enemy can’t ignore you anymore. At the same time, it shows the ruling party’s fear from your struggle.

What is hopeful and a big blow to the enemy, is that every arrested member of HDP already proved victory with their smiles. They reminded us of many revolutionaries kissing the gallows before being executed.

Comrades! It is our custom to die but not to kneel.

The Solidarity Party of Afghanistan (SPA) had planned to have a big protest in front of Turkish Embassy in Kabul, but the Afghan government, acting as little brother of Turkish fascist government, have restricted the demonstration in the city. Therefore, we were not able to express our hate towards a fascist government.

We call upon all freedom-loving and progressive forces and individuals around the world to give hand to the struggle in Kurdistan and Turkey, asking for urgent release of all detained people.

We are with great Kurdish people in their tireless and epic struggle against oppression and fascist regime of Turkey. Your fight for justice, is the fight of Afghan people and we stand with you in the difficult time.
